The DTI-Sapiens Ranking published by Sapiens Research highlighted the University of Simón Bolívar as a superior education institution in providing indicators of technological development and innovation in the whole country.

Inside the indicators considered for this evaluation there were found either certificated technological assets or validated products. This analysis includes industrial designs, integrated circuit schemes, software, pilot plant, industrial prototype and distinctive signs; likewise, the managerial products like the managerial secrets, the technological base companies (spin-off and start-up), the creative and cultural industries, the innovations generated in the business management, and the ongoing innovations, procedure and services impacted in the classification.

Likewise, regulations, procedure and technical were measured based on scientific and technological consultancies; aspect that are related to the scientific technological consultancies and formless technical personnel, as well as consultancies in art, architecture and design.

According to the vice-principal of research and innovation of the University of Simon Bolivar Paola Amar Sepulveda: "this represents for us a major commitment to the production of science and technology based on the concept of innovation as the foundations to continue impressing the social and managerial development of the country. This is one of our principal areas as University that promotes the excellence”

Research Groups Excellence

Sapiens Research also handed in the outcomes regarding the measurements of the Colombian research groups according to technological development and innovation indicators by which the University of Simon Bolivar obtained remarkable positions.

The Group of innovation and Entrepreneurial Development has been set on the first place of the technological certificated or validated assets, the Scientific and Technological consulting as well as managerial products. In this last indicator the Neuroscience Group of the Caribbean shares the same position followed by the Business Research on innovation which has been set on the second place. It is also remarkable that the Modernization and Democracy group of the Colombian State is placed in an important ranking according to the Scientist and Technological Advisory. For University of Simon Bolivar the alignment on this ranking is the permanent awareness in order to offer a superior education with the highest quality standards as well as granting support to the research, increasing mastery and doctorate programs and indexed journals.
